What does the word “ethical shopping” mean?

The adjective “Artisanal” describes those products that are made in a traditional way by a skilled craft worker (the artisan) who creates them partly or entirely by hand.

Such a definition brings with it an idyllic working context whereby artisanal equals sustainable and, therefore, ethical. In people’s imagery, there is a strict correlation between handmade products and ethical business. In principle, truly artisan-made objects last longer, reduce waste, support local workers, and promote transparent supply chains. Hence, they can be labelled as “sustainable” and “ethical”.

Olden Times was created with the aim to give greater visibility to both small local producers and the territories in which they live and work, thus combining traditional economic activities and tourism.

Olden Times values authenticity and genuineness, the quality and durability of handmade items, and short supply chains. It aims to contribute to the creation of a parallel and sustainable market by focusing on the particularity of the products, their uniqueness, their beauty, the inspiration of the producer, the quality, the use of natural raw materials, etc.
